Comedian Kira Soltanovich combines her three most favorite things in life: sweating, steaming and standup to create Let’s Get Sweat! — a talk show that takes place inside of her sauna.
Luckily for Kira, her character’s name actually combines her childhood nickname and the Russian word for sauna heater, to create: Kirka Parilka. She’s a Russian immigrant who unwittingly insults her guests while simultaneously worshiping them to the point of inappropriateness.
Her main objective? To teach her guests, who are literally sitting in the “hot seat”, how to sweat in true Soviet style. Kirka Parilka, is actually based on Kira’s mother, Irina, who taught Kira from a very young age how to create a proper backyard banya. The interviews are improvised, the vodka is flowing, and everyone is getting sweat.
